The following actions were taken by the District as a result of the inspections:
NO ROOF DRAINS CONNECTED TO THE SEWER SYSTEM.
All premises found with roof drains connected to the sewer system for
whatever reason, will be billed $1,000 for prior use of the system, regardless
of time of connection. The owner of the premises will receive a certified
letter from the District stating the discovery of an illegal roof drain
connection(s) The owner shall have two weeks from receipt of the letter
to remove the roof drain connection(s), repair the sewer in a manner which
will prevent reconnection, and have the District reinspect the sewer line.
If, within two weeks, the problem is not resolved, the District will take
legal action.
NO
SUMP PUMPS CONNECTED TO SEWER SYSTEM.
All premises found with a sump pump connected to the sewer system, for
whatever reason, will be billed $500 for prior use of the
system, regardless of time of connection or amount pumped. The owner of
the premises will receive a certified letter from the District stating
the discovery of an illegal sump pump connection. The owner shall have
two weeks from receipt of the letter to remove the connection, repair the
sewer in a manner which will prevent reconnection, affect an alternative
method of sump pump discharge, and have the District reinspect the sewer
line. If, within two weeks, the problem is not resolved, the District will
take legal action.
FEE ESTABLISHED FOR ALL BASEMENT DRAINS.
All premises found with basement drains connected to the sewer system
will be billed according to the rating assigned. The fee shall be annual
and billed in arrears for the past year's connection ending on September
30th of each year. The fee structure is as follows:
